BxArts Factory is a not-for-profit organization founded to provide a space to support local artists working in the Bronx. We plan to assist affiliated artists to engage and advance the Arts in communities throughout the borough via a diverse set of arts-oriented programming and services. Through collaborations with local artists and community based organizations, we will offer dynamic arts education programming that incorporates all of the fine arts. While curriculum development and curation of art exhibits will be completed by our program directors, classroom based activities will be led by our in-house, teaching artists. The BxArts Factory intends to provide unique and engaging experiences to advance the Arts and cultural education in the Bronx.
BxArts Factory is a project visualized by Laura Alvarez (local artist), Twahira Khan (Community Activist), Alexis Mendoza (founder of Alexis Mendoza Curatorial Projects) and Yolanda L. Rodriguez (founder and director of Visiones Culturales, Inc.). These four individuals bring forth knowledge and experience that will secure the success of this development. BxArts Factory will also include the talents of local Bronx artists and community members Latanya DeVaughn, Josue Guarionex Colon, Yarisa Colon and Masiel Ureña.
