Facilities Manager
Ruddy Mejia is a Bronx-based artist with 14 years of experience in art education. Over the past decade, he has used his artistic expression and creative network to design and host several art events both in and out of the classroom. Mejia is a co-founder of Buttonz Up, a mobile “create your own button” experience that has been used for a variety of projects and workshops for all ages across the Bronx.
Concerned with accessibility and education during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mejia created an on-going series for BxArts Factory called, “Creative Corner” which provides virtual access to easy and family friendly art activities that use common household materials.
He has worked with a variety of arts institutions and organizations such as Bronx Museum, The Center for Urban Pedagogy, Bronx Children’s Museum, Free Arts NYC, Bronx House Inc., and is currently working with the BxArts Factory and SONYC programming.
Through these experiences, Mejia hopes to create, inspire and provide opportunities for his community to foster an environment where creativity and self-expression is nurtured and encouraged.
