About the exhibition:
Pressed Narratives explores the balance in our contemporary life, art strategies and techniques. Combined with historical documentation and traditional creative practices, artists merge of printmaking, archival documents, illustrations, and literary source will speak to the audience. The nine artists in the show express personal memories, identity, and narratives using printmaking as a communication vehicle.
The exhibition try to tell a story about what the artists are living through. It responds to the concerns of the present, whether personal, social, or political, and translates them into form. Pressed Narratives, transmits a sense of urgency that manifests differently depending on the artist’s materials and process.
Panel/Art Talk: Thursday, March 19th from 6 to 8 pm.
Artists will be discussing issues related to gender-based discrimination that may deny a person’s access to educational benefits and other basic rights.
