BxArts Factory would like to take some time and thank everyone that came out to our 1st Fundraising Event; 12”x12”! We had an amazing crowd (around 300 people) that made the atmosphere powerful, fun, inspiring, and so unbelievable supporting!  We felt like we had a big family reunion!

We have many people to thank for the successful event!  Our event was welcome with open arms by Dave Lopez, Kieran Farrell and all the incredible staff at the Gun Hill Brewing Company!  We also would like to recognize the help Fernando Tirado (Bronx on the Go) gave us to be able to connect with this amazing local business.

The night was filled with joy as many friends, family members, community organizations and artists came to support us!  A big shout out to the following organizations that were present and contributed to our amazing night:  Transportation Alternatives, Bronx Museum of the Arts, BronxNet, Beer and Bend, Welcome2theBronx, Morris Perk, Bronx Documentary Center, Poets Network & Exchange, Inc Full Circle Ensemble, YUCA Arts, Beyond Organic Design, among many, many others!

We also had the participation of some amazing musical guest and we would like to thank them for their superb performances!  Please support and follow them on social media:  Gamaliel Padilla, 2 in the Afternoon, Elena Rosa Music, Alpha and Walter Halvorsen and Eve’s Fault!

We are blessed to have the most amazing volunteers! You guys rock! Thank you Natalie Caro, Lee Ann Cadiz, Savi Lopez, Manny Figueroa and the awesome selfie girls Sofia and Susej! We were oh so lucky to also have amazing MC Mike Gupta!  He just was a delight! Thank you so much guys!

A big thank you to the amazing caricaturists Pablo D. Martinez and Kenly Dillard for the live art! You guys rock!

Last but not least we are eternally grateful to all the 82 artists that participated in this open call and were exhibited in the 1st international small format 12”x12” art exhibition! Cheers to you, because without your support, trust and confidence we would not be able to do what we do! (Please keep an eye for our next blog posting to include a complete list of artists!!)
We are happy to announce that we sold 10 pieces during our event! We are extremely proud of this accomplishment!  If you miss the event do not worry!  Art work will be on sale at our Online Gallery (coming this week!).

12”x12” 1st BxArts Factory’s Fundraising Exhibition

Past Exhibition

12”X12” is a compilation of artworks created by renowned and up and coming international and local artists in multiple mediums.  We have over 150 pieces from artists in Mexico, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, and, of course, local Bronx and NYC artists!

If you don’t own a piece of artwork or if you are a collector, this is an amazing opportunity to buy some art.  You’ll also be contributing to the fund to renovate our, soon to be, space near The Hub in The Bronx! It is a win-win situation!

The BxArts Factory’s new space will be an incubator for Bronx artists to grow, collaborate and create.  We will be a multipurpose space that will include: an art research center, resident artists’ studios, performance space, classrooms and gallery space. The BxArts Factory endeavors to become a preeminent Arts institution in The Bronx, dedicated to the promotion and use of the Arts as a vital tool to inspire artists and communities within the borough to contribute to the social and economic development of The Bronx.  Help us reach our goal!

The evening will be filled with music, art, and a great vibe! Entertainment will be provided by local Bronx talents Elena Rosa Music, 2 in the Afternoon and Eve’s Fault, among other surprise performances.  Additionally, guests will be able to enjoy live art by local artists, a selfie station, and many other fun surprises! We will also have local food truck Antojitos Mexicanos joining the festivities just outside the brewery!

Innuendos: The Voices of 10 Bronxite Women

Past Exhibition

Celebrating Women’s History Month
Curated by Yelaine Rodriguez and Yolanda Rodriguez

Presented by Visiones Culturales & BxArts Factory

These collection of work by ten women artists from The Bronx looks to connect you to the female form. We wish to celebrate the women body and spirit as it is the biggest accomplishment of our freedom and at the same time celebrate the creativity in the unique and forever inspirational work of women artists.

Innuendos will create a forum for women and all members of the community to talk and discus the problematic that women are still confronting in this new age and how some of the relevance of our accomplishments continues to be ignored by many members of our society. The metaphors implanted in the celebration of our body and spirit work to destroy the stigmatism behind the elegance of the women’s body and the closeness of our spirit to the universe.
The work will explore and bring light to how the women body has being the victim of social innuendos that lack sensitivity and respect putting women into boxes created by society in an attempt to denigrate our rightful place in the global society.

The art work will seek to illustrate the women body and spirit as its being affected or negatively influenced by the struggles with the constant use of it as a tool for sexualization, commercialization and enslavement. The presentation of this group of conceptual work will illustrate the attempts of different societal elements and how they have tried to incarcerate women’s freedoms and the power and right to be one force in this patriarchal society.
