Artist in Residence Project (ARP) objective is to provide emergent artists in the Bronx with space to pursue their artistic practice with a three month residency and to create the infrastructure for community engagement.

Each resident artist will be selected throughout a call for submissions process which includes an application and virtual interview. Selected artists will obtain free space and access to free art materials to create a unique body of work that is community centered and engaging. Each resident artist will be supported in creating programming for the community in the form of workshops, panels, artists talks, exhibitions, studio visits and/or outdoor events.

During the residency artists will present a program once a month. This program will be free and open to any member of our community. At the end of the residency the artists will exhibit the work for a month as we welcome our next resident. The residencies and programs will take place in our space in the Bronx. The facilities have other artists studios and two small galleries available to the resident artists for exhibition space. We also have two multi-use spaces, perfect for community engagement events.

Applications for the Residency Program at the BxArts Factory Studios are DUE on Friday, March 17th, 2023 at 5 pm. The selected candidates will be notified by Friday March 24th, 2023. First residency will begin in April 2023.
